| Jerry Haines singer/ songwriter (6 & 12 String Guitars Harmonica and Autoharp) Jerry's has performed for 24 years playing in festivals, fairs, colleges, concert series, and coffee houses throughout the mid-Atlantic. Jerry's lyrics draw on life, love, loss, happiness and sadness. Jerry has shared the stage with Tom Chapin, Livingston Taylor, Leo Kottke, John McCutcheon, Leon Redbone, etc. Influenced by Bob Dylan, John Prine, Graham Nash, Loudon Wainwright, Carole King, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Joni Mitchell. 2 CDs: Hope the Next Town is Mine and Into My Life. |

| Kristin Hoffmann singer/ songwriter (Guitar and Piano) Kristin attended the Juilliard School of Music, studying opera, secondary composition and classical composition. She was signed by Capital Records at 19 years old and later by Interscope records; now with Starr Records (Indie). “Opera training really molded my voice into what it is today. Once you study classical voice you can go anywhere with it,” says Hoffmann, who also found inspiration in popular artists like Joni Mitchell, Peter Gabriel and Radiohead. She soon realized she could marry the two, creating her own unique blend of classical and contemporary music. Her singing range may be compared with Fiona Apple to Laura Nyro, but her style is uniquely her own with powerful lyrics and melody that bring forth the inner feelings of our nature. 2 CDs: Divided Heart and Real |

| Lester Hirsh singer/songwriter/poet/writer/editor (6 and 12 string guitar/Harmonica) Lester was a 2005 Grammy nominee for Best Spoken Word Album. His style ranges from classical, country, and folk, to Brazilian jazz and Flamenco. Lester has performed in a variety of ensembles over the past 30 years folk trio Side Three, Tampa, Florida, folk/pop trio Jerusalem, Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and duo Sweet River, Concord, New Hampshire. | Phyllis Chapell singer/songwriter (Guitar) From her early background in folk and popular music she performs songs of the world in 11 languages, featuring songs from Brazil, Latin America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. She also has a repertoire of original songs, and her "Soul in Flight" won 2nd place in the Best Cabaret/Torch Song category of the Just Plain Folks 2001 Awards. Her 3-octave vocals are supported and complemented by her acoustic guitar play, capturing the essence of musical styles from percussive Brazilian sambas and explosive flamenco rumbas to elegant classical arias, folk, jazz and original ballads. | David LaFleur singer/songwriter (guitar, mandolin, dulcimer and dobro) With a rich tenor voice and a mastery of the guitar, dobro, mandolin, and dulcimer, David LaFleur has been performing his unique mixture of folk, blues, and bluegrass for over 25 years. A former nuclear engineer turned full-time musician, LaFleur learned his “chops” performing among such acts as Danny Gatton, Harvey Reid, and the Johnson Mountain Boys. He has opened for Emmy Lou Harris, Tom Rush, and the Seldom Scene, and his original music has been featured on TV as well as National Public Radio. In 2004 alone, he was a finalist or received honors in eight national songwriting contests, was a featured performer at the Mountain Stage NewSong Festival and performed for over 200 audiences from Minnesota to Florida. | Jay Smar singer/songwriter (guitar/harmonica/slide guitar/banjo) Jay has been entertaining audiences since the age of fourteen and since then has performed across most of Canada and the U.S. concert experience performing his own brand of new and traditional folk music, as well as 'opening' for such greats as Leo Kottke, The Newgrass Revival, Norman and Nancy Blake, Hot Rize, Tony Trischka, Roy Bookminder, Brian Bowers, John Hammond, John Herald, Jonathan Edwards, Maura O'Connell, Tom Paxton, Loudon Wainright, Michael Cooney, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Kathy Mattea and Emmylou Harris. His program consists of Traditional American and original folk, finger and flat-picked instrumentals, vocals, 2 guitars, claw-hammer banjo, harmonica, and flat-foots (a form of clog-dancing) fiddles and sings simultaneously. | Hannah Bingman singer/songwriter (guitar, vocals, banjo) By age sixteen, Bingman was already playing the singer-songwriter circuits of central Pennsylvania and delivering her own brand of folk to the audiences of coffee shops, bars, and punk shows. About her song writing: “I’ve been told that my subject matters are extremely diverse. But I feel that’s the way life is. I feel as though I’m being blessed and directed by a divine soul in my life who has led me in this direction. And because of that, I’m not the kind of songwriter who will typically write about loves gone wrong…there are plenty of songwriters to carry that ball. | Obi Kaye Master drummer/ Conguero Obi specializes in African, Afro-Caribbean, Brazilian & Middle-Eastern Percussion. He has performed with numerous Jazz and "World" groups, both live and in the studio. His live performances include: Berks Jazz Fest; Yeungling/Schuylkill Summer Jazz Festival (Pottsville PA); Musicfest (Bethlehem PA); Schuylkill's annual Unity Day Celebration and other music and Arts festivals. He has performed live with Hands of Changó, Numerous Middle Eastern Dance troupes and individual dancers, Obi's Funk n' Latin Jazz Project (Funk & Latin Jazz), George Wesley (reggae), Gary McCready (smooth Jazz) and much more. His studio performances include performing on "Summer of Wonderful" (a collection of songs by Elisabeth Jane), and he has also produced 2 solo CDs: "Jaguar's Masquerade" & "En alguna Parte..." (somewhere...) Both CDs received international airplay via college, NPR, and other radio stations that play "non-commercial" music. | Bruce
Piephoff singer/songwriter/poet (Guitar) Bruce is based in Greensboro, NC. He started writing songs and poetry while a student at UNC-Chapel Hill. After listening to some Bob Dylan records his father gave him, he began writing his own songs on his guitar. Bruce's guitar playing and songwriting is influenced by the Texas Troubadors, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, and Kris Kristofferson as well as John Prine and Tom Waits. Since 1988, Bruce has recorded ten albums of original songs and poetry for Flyin' Cloud Records, which is based in Eden, NC. CDs: Razor's

Michael and Carrie Nobel
Kline singers/folk (guitar) We, as musicians, are
preoccupied with West Virginia songs, from the ancient ballads of
the Hammons Family in the central highlands, to mining laments and
songs of resistance in the coal fields. We enjoy love ballads and
country songs as well, especially the poignant imagery of Kate Wolf
and Laurie Lewis. Our style is an amalgamation of musical and oral
sources representative of places like Cherokee, North Carolina, the
Appalachian coal fields, and industrial cities of New England. CDs:

Siobhan Powell Folklorist From Welsh
cottages and Scottish crofts, to German castles, the voice of the
storyteller once rang around the world. This universal and ancient
tradition is kept alive by modern Storytellers. Fiona Siobhan Powell
is one such storyteller. Wherever your ancestors were from, Fiona
probably knows a tale from that land! For although Fiona specializes
in the tales from her native Wales, Scotland and England, over the
years people have "gifted" her with stories from around the world.

| Acoustic Stew musical quartet Acoustic Stew is a new band with old roots. Made up of four players with over 30 years of experience each, playing everything from roots blues to contemporary light rock. Born in jam sessions sponsored by the "Blues Society of Central Pennsylvania," Acoustic Stew brings a unique voice and sweet sound to the music scene. Acoustic Stew features the finger-picking guitar and vocals of Rocky Rothrock, with guitar, vocal and harmonica of Rich Smith, with the bass of Phil Davis and fiddle of Chris Hauke. |

is giving you a story to interpret. Goldbeck earned a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College. She lives in Shenandoah, Schuylkill County. Her articles, poems and photographs have won national, state and regional awards. |

Michelle is dancer, actress, and a mime with extensive training in movement and theater arts. She celebrates 12 years as a professional mime. Michelle provides unique entertainment for children and adults of all ages. She often adds tap dancing to the Art of Silence, demonstrating her dynamic versatility. Her presence is a memorable addition to any event or special occasion. She dances through life’s unexpected choreography and dives into various themes and body stories to bring forth the treasures from within. | Jerusalem musical duet (piano, guitar, harmonica)
This duo consists of Lester Hirsh
and Kathleen Radspinner. They began performing in 1976 in
Williamsport Pennsylvania. In 1978-79 they toured seven Midwest
states for The National School Assembly Program based in
Hollywood California. They performed for the Stearns Miners
Convention in 1978 alongside folk legend Hazel Dickens at the
All Souls Church in Washington D.C. Other notable shows include
The Back Mountain Folk Festival, Wilkes Berra, 1981, The Oregon
Showdown, 1982, First Night Bloomsburg 1999-2002, the Forksville
Folk Festival 2002-03, and 1st Night
Scranton, 2004.
Kathleen has a 3 octave vocal range and sings in all styles. She also won a whistling contest in North Carolina. She is as adept at songwriting and keyboard playing. Lester performs on 6 and 12 string guitar, harmonica and vocal. He was a 1999 finalist at the Napa Valley Emerging Songwriter Contest and a 2005 Grammy nominee for Best Spoken Word Album. Together they share rich harmonies and a warm stage presence that draws people in.

| Theatre Junction Sasha Moscovit & Grisha Eidinov drama theater company Sasha Moscovit was born in Russia in Saint Petersburg, now Leningrad. She studied theater there before coming to the United States. In the U.S. she has had experience training and working in New York, Chicago, Detroit and Philadelphia. Locally she was a part of the Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble. She is also involved with the Art and Ethnic Center in Pottsville and Stonehedge Gardens in Tamaqua. |

| David Brooks poet/writer David Brooks has been a published poet for 23 years. He has been featured in Bucknell University's "West Branch". His short stories have been published in "Appearances". His manuscript, "Right Livelihood" won the Pavement Saw Chapbook Competition in 1997. |

| Marlene Rowe poet/author Marlene in
January of 1991 was selected by the American Poetry Center (Phil) as
one of twenty poets from across the nation to participate in a
poet's reading tour of Moscow and St. Petersburg (then Leningrad).
In 1993 she read her poetry at the Mayakovsky Centennial (Lehman
College) as well as wrote and directed a dramatization of a
Mayakovsky poetry reading. She was selected the Summit Arts
Fellowship Forum of Schuylkill County Poets as the grand prize
winner for the 1991 competition. Marlene helped to found
the Stray Dog Poets in Schuylkill County and is active in Poetry
readings throughout the region. Marlene poetry work, Staring at
the Welder's Flame, was published in 1996. |

| Deborah Filanowski poet/author Deborah is a published poet, And Guppies Eat their Young, with numerous of her poems being published and winning awards. Her poetry revolves around the things she knows best—children, women, and relationships often with a skewed viewpoint. She reads in venues throughout Northeast and Central PA and NYC, is a member of the Stray Dog Poets and Berks Bards, as well serving on the board of the Gabriel Chamber Ensemble. She is a host/participant of the poetry series at Stonehenge Gardens and at All Things Good.
